Valieth Bartlett, 86, died Thursday, September 3, 1992. Mrs. Bartlett was born August 23, 1906 in Brownwood. Her parents were John Gladney and Ada Eoff Gladney. She came to the Cottonwood Community of Collingsworth County in 1913 with her family from Brownwood.

She married Ozro Bartlett November 9, 1923 in Hollis,Oklahoma. They farmed in the Lillie and Quail communities. She was a former member of the Lillie Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she had taught Sunday School and was active in all areas of the church.

Surviving relatives are: one daughter, Barbara Clark of Wellington; one son, Joe Bartlett, Seldovia, Alaska; one brother, Ross Gladney of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Ada Lee Cummerfeld, Moorcraft, Wyoming and Oleta Bentley of Kansas City, MO.; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ozro, in 1979, and by 3 daughters, Bonnie Clark, June Hoeft and Clair Bartlett and by a son, J.L. Bartlett.
