He married Sarah Wilkin in March of 1817 and in the fall of that year settled in Maryann Township, Licking County. The obituary of Sarah indicates they had ten children. Eight of these children were named in the "Memorial Record of Licking County, Ohio.
They were buried on a steep hill in Maryann Township on what was once their farm. This small grave yard was once surrounded by a wrought iron fence, and when viewed in the 1970s it was falling down and in more recent years had disappeared.
