Bob Rutledge, 71, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 1996 in a Wichita Falls hospital.

Services will be at 11a.m., Tuesday at Petrolia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Lucier officating. Burial will be in Petrolia Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.

Mr. Rutledge was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Petrolia. He and Billie Jean Isaacs were married in 1943. He served in the Navy Seabees during WWII. In 1989, he retired from Dawson Company of Houston after 23 years and returned to his hometown of Petrolia. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, various Treasure Clubs, and served on the Board of Directors for the Petrolia Senior Citizens Center. He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent.

Survivors include his wife; a sister, Elnora of Lake Livingston;a son Roy Rutledge of Waco; a daughter, Carol Pearson of Byers; Four Grandchildren and a great-grand child.
