Mrs. Lucy D. Miller, 85, of 224 Hamilton Ave., widow of David R. Miller, died at 2:30 a.m. today at the Waynesboro Hospital.

She had been in failing health for the last year, and June 2, while working in the yard at her home suffered a stroke.

She was found by a neighbor who called for an ambulance to have the stricken woman removed to the hospital.

Mrs. Miller was born in Quincy Township, April 6, 1881, daughter of the late Samuel J. and Emma Smith Rock. The family moved to Waynesboro when she was a child and from that time resided in Waynesboro.

After the death of her husband in 1916, she was employed at the Waynesboro Knitting Company until her retirement July 12, 1957.

Surviving are these sisters and a brother, Mrs. Mary Weyant, Lancaster; Mrs. Ruth Sheldon, Hampton, Va.; Mrs. Rhoda McCarney, Guilford Convalescarium, Fayetteville; Mrs. Esther Hosfield and Melvin Rock, all of Waynesboro.
