Lloyd Edmond Butler was born May 7, 1930 and departed this life March 20, 1955, being 24 years, 10 months andd 13 days of age.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Opal Latham, one sister, Mrs. Doris Guffey, one brother, Thomas Butler, stepfather, Tuck Latham and grandmother, Mrs. Gertie Eubanks and a host of other relatives and
friends.
Lloyd joined the Methodist church some years ago. He was in the United States Army for a short time. He was a kind and good hearted boy, and always had a smile and hello for everyone. Lloyd was always helping his neighbors and trying to make the best of everything. He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends.
He has been taken and we sometimes don't understand, but if we will only trust God, we will understand it better after a while.
Death was caused by accidental drowning in Wayne county. Inquest was held by Wayne County Judge Ed Lee, assisted by Billy Gay Huddleston.
Funeral was held Tuesday, March 22 at Cave Springs Church conducted by Bro. J.A. Humble, and D. A. Payton. Burial was in Cave Springs.
Mr. Butler was a grandson of the late Bud Carter of Slickford, he was visiting near Powersburg, when he suffered an attack of epilepsy and fell in the mud in the road and was drowned. He had been subject
to the attacks for some time.
