Biersdorf, Frank H. age 62 of Young America passed away on Sunday December 14, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington. Funeral Service held on Friday December 19, 2008 11:00 A.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with Chaplain of Ridgeview Hospice Bob Haskin officiating. Visitation Thursday 5-7 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Frank was born on December 30, 1945 in Waconia the son of Edwin and Dorothy (Unglaub) Biersdorf. Frank was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia. He graduated from Hutchinson High School the Class of 1963. Frank served in the United States Army in Vietnam with the 147th AVNCO. In 1969 Frank moved to Illinois where he lived for 39 years, retiring from Henry Pratt Company after 35 years of employment. Frank was a life-long member of the Tri-County Vietnow in which he served many office positions including President for 2 terms. Frank was a life-long member of the Waconia VFW Post #5462 and American Legion Post #150. Frank is preceded in death by parents Edwin and Dorothy Biersdorf. Sister Shirley Biersdorf. Brothers-in=law Jan Mechtel and Roman Hesse. Speical Aunt and Uncle Harold and Verdella Unglaub. Frank is survived by his loving family sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Ann Mechtel of Waconia, Bette Hesse of Cologne, Dallas Isaac, Sandra and Robert Sliger of Mason City, Iowa, Carol and Leroy Dreier of Hamburg. Brother Roger Biersdorf of Plato. Special Goddaughter Rachel. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Casket Bearers Jon Sliger, Brian Sliger, Gary Sliger, James Dreier, Donald Hesse, Mark Hesse.
