Thomas James Sterling, Sr., 65, died Wednesday, Jan. 13 at his home in Wellington. Mr. Sterling was born Oct. 22, 1922 in Quitman, Mississippi. His parents were John Sterling and Bessie Dell Sterling. He married Lillie Mae Thompson, Sept. 10, 1950 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a farmer, a member of Victory Temple Full
Gospel Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. His wife preceded him in death. Survivors are four daughters, Bessie Mae Tanzie of Wellington, Rosie Thomas of Dallas, Catherine Sterling of San Diego, California, Latrice Sterling of Wellington; two sons: Thomas J. Sterling, Jr., of Wellington and Robert Ernest Sterling of San Diego; three brothers: John Sterling and George Sterling both of Quitman, Mississippi and Orville Sterling of Gary, Indiana; three sisters: Lillie Dell Sterling, Lucille Sterling and Maude Lee Edwards all of Quitman, Mississippi; and nine grandchildren.
