Funeral services for A. J. Fike of Markleysburg, were solemnized in Uniontown Chapel near his home, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was in Thomas cemetery.
Mr. Fike had been ill for 11 years but being one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of the mountain district, his death, although not altogether unexpected, came as a shock to members of his family and his host of friends.
Surviving are his widow, Mary Van Sickle Fike, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Martin, of Markleysburg; five grandchildren; a brother, Albert Fike; and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Bowser, Selbysport, Md.; Mrs. Joe Dennis, of Markleysburg, and Mrs. Garfield Chrise, of Pittsburgh.
