Bird, Ira Gilbert -- Age 90 years, of Markleysburg, Pa., died Monday, May 7, 1984. He was the son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Glover Bird. He taught in the Monessen and Mountain Area Schools for 25 years, and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Markleysburg. Surviving are his wife, Maybelle Schrock Bird, Markleysburg; four sons, Donald, Fairborne, Ohio; Wade, Arcamum, Ohio; Wendell, at home; and Ronald, Markleysburg; six daughters, Garnet Jeffries, Uniontown; Ruby Cale, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; Ruth Fieldson, Markleysburg; Audrey Bates, Miamisburg, Ohio; Wanda Huey, High House, Pa.; and Donna Hill, Cleveland, Ohio; 41 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three daughters and two sons. Memorial services will be held in Markleysburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 13. William Mahoney will officiate.
