Murle Patrick Ervin Barker, age 90, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday morning, February 16, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Barker was born October 7, 1920, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Otiest and Nora Henderson Patrick.
Murle was a member of Bowen Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and was a homemaker and farmer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, Clifford Ervin; her husband of twenty-four years, Thomas D. "Tommy" Barker; twin brother, Earl Patrick; and brother Lertie Patrick.
Murle is survived by her cousin, Barbara King, whom she raised and was like a daughter to her. She is also survived by one sister Augusta White of Greenville, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Patrick of Indiana, and Doris Patrick of Mansfield, Ohio; and one half-brother, Ollie Patrick and his wife, Janice, of Indiana. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family members, church family and friends who will sadly miss her. She will also be sadly missed by her care givers, Loretta Parker, Brenda Porter, and Pam Lawhorn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Dallas Wilson and Brother Dale Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011, and until the service hour on Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Talmadge Rayburn, Carlos Patrick, Chris Patrick, Dallas Wilson, Norman Patrick, and David Rayburn will serve as pallbearers.
