THOMAS LLOYD CROPPER, AGED PIONEER DIES

Thomas Lloyd Cropper, aged 75, died at his home in Deseret on Tuesday, Oct. 25 with causes incident to age. He was born in Filmore on September 10, 1868, and with his parents moved to Deseret when eight years old, where he had resided ever since. On January 16, 1893, he married Eliza Western, who survives him; eight children were born, of whom four are living. Mr. Cropper's activities were mining and farming. In the Construction of the drainage system, in an accident, he was blinded for the last twenty three years of his life. He is one of the pioneers of the district, with many friends, knew all the old-timers and was well acquainted with the former generation of Indians. He is survived by his widow and the following children: Melvin Cropper; Lester Cropper; Mrs. Randall Cahoon; Mrs. H.H. Maxfield and two foster children whom he raised, Mrs. Max Robison of Delta and Mrs. Newell Knight of Deseret; six sisters, Mrs. Mark Reynolds of Provo; Mrs. Robert Ashby, American Fork; Mrs. Will Johnson, Aurora; Mrs. Mary Reeve, Hinckley; Mrs. Wilford Pratt, Nephi; Mrs. Eda Tippetts, Ephraim and one brother, Marlon Cropper. One other brother preceded him in death, Colmore Cropper. There are twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Deseret at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
