Jan Ione Zeigler was born on July 29, 1944 to Wayne and Lucille (Grauerholz) Schoeni at Smith Center, Kansas. She passed away on February 13, 2011 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 14 days.

Jan was one of 5 children, she grew up in Kensington attending grade school and graduated from Kensington High School with the the class of 1962. She was baptized in 1954 by Rev. F.M. McDonald at the First Christian Church, being a member there during her childhood years, and was a past member of the United Methodist Church in Superior.

She was united in marriage to David Conaway on June 17, 1962 and to this union 3 children were born, Brett, Linley and Leslie. They lived in Smith Center and Jan worked with mentally challenged children and also for the Smith County Veterinary Clinic. They were later divorced.

She moved to Superior, Nebraska in September of 1975, where she continued to raise her family. She later married Robert Zeigler on June 26, 1992 in Hastings, Nebraska. They made their home together in Superior. Jan was employed at Megrue-Price Funeral Home as an administrative assistant for 18 years, retiring in January of 2001. Bob & Jan decided to spend their retirement years in Wheatland, Missouri, where they enjoyed boating, fishing and golfing. After a short time their family and friends encouraged them to move back, so they returned to Superior to enjoy their retirement years.

Jan was an EMT for 10 years and a past Eagles Auxiliary member. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, reading, playing horseshoes, dancing and being a Wednesday afternoon club member. Jan lived life to it's fullest and loved her family immensely.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Lucille Schoeni and a step-daughter, Tricia Zeigler.

She is survived by her husband Bob of Superior; son, Brett Conaway of Smith Center, Kansas; daughters, Linley Voboril of Galva, Kansas and Leslie Hoge and husband Heath of Belleville, Kansas; step-children, Juliene Snyder and husband Scott of Lincoln, Nebraska; Jeanine Kintigh and husband Roger of Webber, Kansas; Bryan Zeigler and wife Stacy of Topeka, Kansas, Tony Warren and wife Angie of Hastings, Nebraska, Troy Warren of Pueblo West, Colorado and Eric Warren and wife Robin of Hastings, Nebraska; grandchildren: Trevor Etie and son A.J. of Bedford, Texas; Cole & Haley Conaway of Smith Center, Kansas; Ethan & Corbyn Voboril of Galva, Kansas; Kole and Peyton Hoge, Riley Palmer, Kaitlyn & Chase Hoge of Belleville, Kansas; Ashley & Danelle Snyder of Lincoln, Nebraska; Jason, Melissa, Gavin, Zach & Holley Kintigh of Lincoln, Nebraska; Bryce Kintigh of Wichita, Kansas; Allison Kintigh of Manhattan, Kansas; Macy, Lily & Hollyn Zeigler of Topeka, Kansas; sisters: Carole Thompson and husband Eldon of Superior, Nebraska; Rita Kleinschmidt and husband Lloyd of Agra, Kansas; Cheryl Gibbs and husband Mark of Stilwell, Kansas and brother, Arden Schoeni of Arlington, Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Becky Saddler officiating.

Memorials suggested to the Superior Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Friends may call or stop by on Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Thursday from 9:00 AM till services.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
