OZONA - Bertie Sue Caldwell passed from her earthly home and went to her heavenly home Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003. She was loved by many. Sue was born to Ernest and Rooney Brownrigg on Jan. 24, 1927, in Ozona, Texas. She graduated from Ozona High School in May 1944 and married Edward Spoonts in 1945, who preceded her in death. To this marriage she had two children, Nancy Sue Harris, who preceded her in death in 2003, and Kenneth Bruce Spoonts. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Caldwell of San Angelo, Texas; her son, Kenneth Spoonts and wife, Gail, of Anchorage, Alaska; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends. Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Church of Christ in Ozona, Texas. The body will lie in state at Preddy Funeral Home, Ozona, Texas. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. in the Mertzon Cemetery, Mertzon, Texas. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the men and women of Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care of Sue and her family. Thanks also to the many friends of Sue and Jim who have expressed their love and sympathy in food, flowers and prayer.
