Excelia Gay Porter, 64, of Ripley, retired dispatcher for the Lauderdale County sheriff's department, died Thursday of last week in Baptist Hospital Lauderdale.
Rites were Saturday in Garner Funeral Home, with burial in Mary's Chapel Cemetery.
She attended the Whitefield Assembly of God.
She leaves her mother, Eddieree Porter, a brother, Charles Lewis Porter, and sister, Angie Hughes and Paulette Herron, all of Ripley; one son, Bruce Lee Brown, of Cripple Creek, Colo.; a daughter, Linda Gay McCarty, of Greeley, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.
