Funeral services for Francis E. (Frank) Elliott, 77, of 518 Standpipe Road, will be held today at 2:30 p.m., at the Fundamental Baptist Church, 2801 West Church. The Rev. Sherman Gann will officiate and burial will be at Carlsbad Cemetery.

Born Oct. 7, 1879 at Nagodoches, Tex., Elliott had been a Carlsbad resident since 1918. A retired rancher, Elliott was educated in Arkansas and was married to the former Minnie Ann Hudson on July 15, 1900, at Atlanta, Ark.

The couple moved to Eddy County from Brady, Tex., and homesteaded near White's City. In 1943 they moved to their present home on Standpipe Road. Elliott was a rancher throughout his life. He suffered a heart attack in Ruidoso Friday afternoon and was taken to a hospital where he died three hours later.

Elliott is survived by his widow, two sons, Walter and John Elliott, both of Carlsbad; a daughter, Mrs. Sam Evans, Loving; a great niece, Donna Elliott, Portales; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a former member of the Woodmen of the World.

Pallbearers will be C.L. White, Jack Moreland, Pink Black, C.P. Pardue, J.H. Hinton and Hall Olds of Orla, Texas.
