Amelia Heaton was a 2nd generation American, the 3rd of six children borne of the union of Wilford Wilde Heaton (1862-1936) and Emma (Palmer) Heaton (1867-1947). She was born and raised in Utah and married John Chamberlain on May 30th, 1906.
She was the mother of eight children. They were:
Emma I., b. Jun 26, 1907
John Raymond, b.Jun 12, 1909, d.Jun 22, 1909
Wilford Hugh, b. May 28, 1910
Luella, b.Jun 22, 1913
Alta, b.Mar 24, 1917
Roland Grant, b.Jul 26, 1919
Barbara, b.Mar 26, 1922 and
Merl Thomas, b.Oct 17, 1924. All of the children were born in Orderville, Kane Co., Utah on the family's farm. In 1920, her husband, John, was a farmer, (having been a sheep herder in 1910) and their three elder children attended school, while Amelia cared for the younger four. Tragically, Amelia died on Oct 14th, 1925 and was buried on Oct 17th, 1925, near little John Raymond who had died in infancy, 16 years earlier at Orderville Cemetery. Her headstone says "A Tender Mother and A Faithful Friend."
Her husband, John, would pass from this life on Aug 20, 1965 and be laid to rest beside his dear wife. They are together in Eternity with their Loved Ones.
