James Hyde
James H. "Jimmy" Hyde, 71, of Niota, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Ralph and Mary Bell Wise Hyde.
He was a farmer and was retired from Leaseway Trucking. He was a member of Old Pond Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Judy K. O'Daniel Hyde of Niota; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell and Sheila Hyde of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kendell and Sheila Hyde of Athens; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Mike McGhee of Yulee, Fla., and Candy and Jamie Harris of Athens; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margie Ledford and Nora F. and Glenn Smith of Athens; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Tony Carver, Rip Warren, Cy Gleaton, Adam Breedwell, Freddie Ledford and Larry Cook.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
