He was a native of Tattnall County and had lived in Thomasville for a number of years before moving back to Tattnall County twelve years ago. He was a member of Bay Branch Primitive Baptist Church and was employed by Brooks Auto Parts in Thomasville and Claxton for a number of years. He was also a poultry farmer.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Anita Thomas Baker of Reidsville; two sons, James Baker of Reidsville and Jeffrey Baker of Madison, Fla.; a daughter, Beverly Baker of Madison, Fla.; his mother, Marcelyn Baker of Glennville; his grandmother, Rosetta Knight of Glennville; two brothers, Leon and Larry Baker of Glennville; a sister, Libby Reeves of Glennville; his parents-in-law, Winfred and Hazel Thomas of Scott and several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. today at Bay Branch Primitive Baptist Church, burial in church cemetery.
