Age 63, Seattle, son of Giles Pettibone - Saphrone Whiting, per transcript of death record in Washington archives. He was listed as a private in the 10th Regiment, New York Infanty (as Petabone), and in 8th regiment, New York Heavy Artillery (as Pettibone), during the civil war.

He is age 2, b. NY, in the 1850 census of Warsaw, Wyoming, New York with parents Giles (36, CT) and Sophrona (35, NY) Pettibone, brothers Willis (14), Chauncey (8), and sisters Lucy (11), Sophia (10) and Sarah (5) Also with the family was Mabell Pettibone, age 74, b. in CT.

He was in the 1870 census in Nebraska, with wife Mary M., son Franklin W. and brother James A.

In the 1875 census of Darien, Genesee, New York, George W Pettebone (28), was with wife Mary M.,2, sons Frank W 7), and Walter G (2) as well as brother-in-law Frank Colby.

In 1910 Boulder, Colorado, George W Pettebone (b. NY,father b.CT) was with wife Ida M Pettibone (47, Wisconsin), and daughters Cornelia M(24, Kansas),Virginia A (20, Kansas) and Anita L. (17, Kansas)

After his death, widow Ida M. Pettibone was the beneficiary of his veteran's pension until her death Feb 2 1922. Ida May died 1 Feb 1922 in Spokane, WA; she was the daughter of Charles B Fargo and Martha Bevere.

In 1900 King Co WA, Frank W Pettibone (July 1869, NY, married 6 years) was with wife Lula M (Jan 1870, IL), sons George T ( Jan 1894,WA) and Errol C (Nov 1896 ,WA) and daughter Vealera L (Aug 1895 ,WA)
In 1910 Medina, King Co. WA, Frank W. Pettibone (41, NY) was with wife Zula M. (40, IL),sons George T. (16, OR), Errol C (13, WA), Gordon R (6, WA), daughter Valera L. (14,WA) and mother-in-law Lucy L Richards (71, NY)
