Mrs. Sylvia Duncan, 76, 601 E. Capitol Ave., died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital, where she had been a patient since last Sunday. Mrs. Duncan was born at Vienna Feb. 18, 1893, daughter of John and Louellen Bishop Copeland. She was married Dec. 24, 1911, at Vienna, to James Archie Duncan, who died Nov. 21, 1960.
Mrs. Duncan was employed for many years as a private duty practical nurse in Jefferson City. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Philathea Sunday School Class, and the Thompson Circle of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the church. She was a former member of the Veitch Rebekah Lodge No. 67.
Survivors include: Two sons, W. Warren Duncan, 1316 Dixon Dr. and James Wayne Duncan, 1924 W. Main St.; one brother, Adam Copeland, Vienna; three sister, Mrs. Millard Leuthen, Waynesville, Mrs. Norman Duncan, Sullivan, and Mrs. Richard Pratter, Meta; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Buescher Memorial Chapel, and at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church, Vienna, with the Rev. J. M. Shockley officiating. Burial will be in Vienna Cemetery.
