Gola "Nina" Bierwirth died in Wellington Monday, August 16, 1999 at the age of 94.
Born July 28, 1905 in Garfield, Kentucky to Jim and Mattie Foreman Thomas, she moved to Childress as a young girl and was a longtime resident there.
She married Theodore Bierwirth in 1940 at Childress. He preceded her in death in 1982.
While in Childress, Mrs. Bierwirth was a homemaker and a member of the Central Christian Church. She moved to Wellington in 1987 to be near family and was a member of the First Christian Church here.
She was also preceded in death by one grandson, David Hugh Davenport in 1984.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlene Poteet of Wellington; Helen Pryor of Houston and Thelma Hudson of Whitney; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
