MITTIE DAVIS
Mrs. Mittie A. Davis, long time resident of Carlsbad, died yesterday in a local hospital following an extended illness. She was 69.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Denneth Andress officiating. Rev. Harvey Hudson of the Church of God will assist and burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Born 69 years ago at Uvalde County, Tex., on March 22, Mrs. Davis had been a 34-year resident of Carlsbad residing with her husband, Monte Davis, at 403 N. Sixth St.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Davis is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Irene Thacker and Mrs. Rela Trammel of Carlsbad and Mrs. Dorothy Barnhill of Monahans, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. H.A. Gadbury, Carlsbad, and Miss Ruby Pyeatt, Odessa, Tex.; two brothers, Harley Ballard, Black River, and Robert Pyeatt, Carlsbad. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
