Mrs. Evans was born Oct. 17, 1918 in Hendersonville, North Carolina and died April 14, 2005 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Evans was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a homemaker. She was a former member of Lufkin Lioness Club and was a Lufkin Memorial Hospital Auxillary volunteer. She was a member of the Keltys United Methodist Church.
Survivors: husband, James Allie Evans Sr., or Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary Evans and Russ Varsey of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, James A. "Jim", Jr. and Lynn of Richardson; grandchildren, Allen Exnicious, Rhonda S. Smith, Ryan Exnicious, James A. "Trey" Evans III and Kenneth Lynn Evans; sister, Jane Dwyer of Groveton; four great-grandchildren; a number of other relatives and friends; and special friend E. G. and Donna McPherson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E. J. Pence and Mary Jo (LePierre) Pence.
