Born Dec. 29, 1929, in Fulton County, Pennsylvania, USA, he was the son of the late William G. Lucas Sr. and Louise Ellen Bishop Lucas.
He owned and operated Lucas Well Drilling Co. for 50 years, retiring in 2001. He also was a farmer, and drove a school bus for Fulton County Schools for 20 years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hancock.
He served as Township Supervisor of Bethel Township, Pennsylvania from 1977 to 1989; and as Fire Warden of Fulton County for 20 years.
He was a member of Maryland Delaware Water Well Association; and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Flowers Lucas, whom he married June 10, 1955; nieces; nephews; aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Lucas; and two brothers, John Lucas and William G. Lucas Jr.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hancock. The Rev. Tim Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p. m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock; and Monday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral home will open at 2 p.m. today.
