Mr. and Mrs. Huffman married Oct. 9, 1923, at the home of officiating magistrate, J.A. Neighbors, in the North Asheboro area. The couple drove to the marriage ceremony in the groom's one-seater 1922 Model T Ford Roadster, accompanied by two witnesses, J.W. Ashworthe of Central Falls and J.C. Whitesell of Gibsonville. The third witness was Fern Canoy, granddaughter of the magistrate.
At the time of their marriage Mrs. Huffman, now 77, the former Alma Georgia Caviness, was living in Central Falls with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Caviness. She was originally from Coleridge.
Huffman, now 83, a native of Guilford County near Gibsonville, was boarding at Central Falls and working in the mill there at the time of their marriage. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. George Huffman.
The couple became acquainted when Mrs. Huffman and her family moved to near Gibsonville from Greensboro where the family lived after leaving Coleridge.
Mr. and Mrs. Huffman left Central Falls in 1931 after the mill had shut down in 1929 and moved to High Point. They came to their present residence in 1950 where Huffman farmed and was employed at the mill in Cedar Falls until his retirement.
Until he turned 42, Huffman played baseball at Gibsonville, Central Falls and High Point.
