Hampton Kennedy, 69, died at Precious Nursing Home in Vidalia Saturday after a short illness. A Tattnall County native, , he had lived in Evans County a number of years. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Alma Boyd, Hagen; Mrs. Kathleen Sheahan, Miami, FL; four brothers, Avon Kennedy and L.J. (Sonny Boy) Kennedy of Claxton,; Lelon M Kennedy of Augusta; M.K. Kennedy, Macon GA. A number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the NeSmith Chapel conducted by Elder Gilbert Cribbs. Internment was in the Bay Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers were his nephews.
