Mrs. HERBERT MACAULEY
Mrs. Olive A. (Bentley) Macauley, 62, wife of Herbert F. Macauley of 113 Hicks Ave., died Friday night at Putnam Memorial Hospital. She had been hospitalized for a month.
The daughter of Ross and Eva (Burk) Bentley, she was born in Saratoga, N.Y. June 16, 1907, and had attended schools in New York State and Vermont. She and Mr. Macauley were married in Sandgate Jan 10, 1941 and had formerly resided in the Sandgate-Arlington area.
Mrs. Macauley had been employed at Tansitor Electronics, Inc. She was a member of the Bennington bowling leagues and a former member of Miriam Rebekah Lodge, of which she was a past noble grand and formerly belonged to the Bennington Grange. She was secretary of the Ladies' Auxillary of the Bennington Rural Fire Department for several years.
Survivors besides her husband are five daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Lillian) Chatterton of Petersburg, N.Y.; Mrs. Ralph (Gloria) Harrington and Miss Iva Macauley, both of Bennington; Mrs. Carl (Rhoda) Granger of Salem, N.Y., and Mrs. Robert (Marcia) Forman of Waverly, N.Y.; three sons, Alvon Macauley of Cambridge; Herbert L. Macauley and Albert J. Macauley, both of Bennington; her mother, Mrs. Eva Bentley of Bennington; five brothers, Carl and John Bentley, both of Windsor Locks, Conn.; Roger, Glendon and Douglas Bentley, all of Bennington; seven sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Revett, Miss Ruth Bentley and Mrs. James (Marilyn) Simaleck, all of Bennington; Mrs. Marion Tudor of Arlington, Mrs. William (Thelma) Van Orman and Mrs. Roy (Virginia) Hazelton, both of North Bennington and Mrs. Margaret Saari of Eagle Bridge, N.Y.; 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The funeral was held this morning in the Missionary Alliance Church with the Rev. Richard O. Lenehan, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Hinsdillville Cemetery.
