Doyle Solly, 83, died Saturday morning in The Guess House in Shreveport after an illness. He was born in Hemphill, TX, to Oscar Eugene and Mary Travis Solly. Doyle has lived in Greenwood, LA, for sixty years where he was a plumber and a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 141. Doyle served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife Mary Solly of Greenwood, his son Doyle Lynn Solly and his wife Gwen of Shreveport and his daughter Linda Merchant and her husband Dave of Rochester Hills, MI. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Kerry, Corey, Amber, and Dillon, and four great grandchildren; Braxton, Dane, Beckett, and Madison.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, from 10:00 am until service time at 2:00 pm in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, TX. Burial will follow in the Hemphill Cemetery.
