ROSALIE STEPHENSON SCHOONOVER, 69 of 301 Ann St., Towanda died Tuesday afternoon, May 26, 1998 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Born May 9, 1929 in Towanda she was a daughter of the late Harry and Florence Arnold Stephenson Sr. Rosalie was a graduate of Towanda High School Class of 1947 and was employed by Penelec in Towanda from 1947 to 1949. On July 11, 1949 she married Robert E. Schoonover in Bel Air, Md. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 1, 1977. From 1961 to 1992, Rosalie was employed by the O. Ames Co. in Monroeton. She later owned and operated the Bijou Video Rental Store in Monroeton from 1985 to 1994 and from 1994 to 1997 was employed by the Photo License Bureau in Monroeton. Rosalie was a member of the Towanda First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working with people and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney G. and Jeanne M. Schoonover of Towanda and Allan Robert and Barbara R. Schoonover of Westminster, Mass.; a daughter, Sheree E. Schoonover of Towanda; six grandchildren, Aimee Schoonover O'Connor and Mindy, Robert, Alicia, Kimberly and Bobbi-Lynn Schoonover; her great-granddaughter, Jordan Jeanne O'Connor; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Patricia Stephenson of Towanda and Gordon and Sandy Stephenson of Towanda, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kirsten Erika Smith, on Jan. 10, 1993, and by three brothers, Harry, Richard and Norman Stephenson. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. The funeral and committal service will be held Friday, May 29, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Allen Hulslander, pastor of the Towanda First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be later in Standing Stone Cemetery, Standing Stone Township, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Roads, Bethesda, Md. in Mrs. Schoonover's memory. –Towanda Daily Review
