Brandel, Janet L. 66, of Hart, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 9, 2009, in Fort Myers Beach, Fla. She was born Sept. 25, 1943 in Hart to John and Elizabeth (Arnouts) Malburg, and graduated from Walkerville High School with the Class of 1961. Janet lived in Oceana County all her life. In recent years, she spent the winters in Fort Myers Beach, Fla. July 21, 1975, Janet married Richard "Dick" Brandel at Silver Lake, and he preceded her in death Nov. 24, 2000. Their son, Andrew R. "Andy" Brandel, passed away April 4, 1979. Janet was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Malburg. Janet was a partner in Brandel Farms, LLC and enjoyed working in her gardening business, which she called her "hobby gone astray". She was a member of the Grand Valley Daylily Club and the American Hemerocallis (Daylily) Society. Janet will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughters, Christine and David Spoehr, of Kentwood, and Lindsey Brandel, of Hart; son, Anthony Eisenlohr, of Hart; grandsons, Michael, Mark and Matthew Spoehr, of Kentwood; sister Joyce Alvesteffer and brother Kenneth and Brenda Malburg, all of Hart; aunts, nieces and nephews. A funeral service was Tuesday, Nov. 17, 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hart with Pastor Dennis Foley officiating. Burial in the Hart Cemetery.
