MEADVILLE, Dec. 12.—Frank P. Miller, aged 59, a leading citizen of Meadville and a former member of the State Senate, died unexpectedly here early Saturday afternoon. He was seized with a heart attack upon arriving at his residence from the plant of the McCrosky Tool Corp., of which he was president. There was no intimation he had not been well.

Mr. Miller was born on a farm in Crawford county and would have been 60 on December 20. Most of his life had been spent in Meadville.
He was a graduate of Allegheny College and a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity there. He was a member of the board of trustees of the college, a director of the First National Bank, president of the Y.M.C.A. and a member of the Official Board of the Stone Methodist Church. He was also president of the Midwest Tool and Manufacturing Co. at Detroit and state vice chairman of the Y.M.C.A.

Mr. Miller served as State Senator from the Crawford-Mercer distrct from 1923 to 1927 and was one of the most prominent members of the Republican party in the county. While he had held no district or county office since 1927, he was active in Republican councils and frequently was called upon for addresses. He was one of the speakers at a recent testimonial gathering for Ray F. Smock just before the latter's departure from Meadville for Harrisburg to become assistant Secretary of Highways.

Mr. Miller leaves a wife and a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Shaffer, of San Francisco. Funeral services will be held in the Stone church at Meadville at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
