Jas. R. Blair, a Native of Six Mile, Expired at Cutler, Monday Night
James Renwick Blair, all his life a resident of the Cutler vicinity, and a cousin of Rylie Blair of near Sparta, died at the home of his cousin, Mrs. Mattie Blair, at Cutler, at 12:45 p.m. Monday, of diseases incident to old age. He was aged 87 years, 2 months and 24 days.
Funeral services were held at the U.P. church at Cutler at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, the pastor, Res. D. S. Oyler, officiating. Interment was made at the Mound cemetery.
Mr. Blair was born in Six Mile on November 26, 1846, a son of Samuel and Elizabeth Blair. His wife, whose maiden name was Louisa Ashworth, died in 1914. One daughter, Estelle, passed away in 1916. Surviving are one son, Howard Blair, of Maplewood, Mo., and one brother, Theothilus V. Blair, of Cutler.
Mr. Blair had been an elder of the U. P. church at Cutler for the last 35 years. He was reared on the farm and taught school for 15 years. After the death of his wife he left the farm, living with his son, Howard, in St. Louis, during the winter months and with his brother T. V. Blair, at Cutler, during the summer.

J. Renwick Blar died Monday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. W. L. Blair, after an illness of several weeks due to the infirmities of old age. He was in his 88th year and the greater part of his life was spent in this community. For a number of years he was a ruling elder of the U. P. church here. He leaves one son, H. A. Blair of St. Louis, and one brother, T. V. Blair of Cutler to mourn his loss.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at U.P, Church, conducted by pastor D. S. Oyler. Interment was in Mound cemetery.
