George was the son of Heinrich Homrighausen and Sophia Scharch. George was married to Elizabeth Sauer (daughter of Philip Sauer).

George Homrighausen, one of the highly respected citizens of Red Bud, died at his residence there April 4, 1929, aged 77 years, 11 months and 2 days.

The deceased was well known in this vicinity wher he spent many years. He was born in St. Louis, but went to Prairie du Long precinct with his parents in babyhood. For several years he taught in the county schools, but went to Red Bud in 1892, and had resided there since.

On Sep. 21, 1876, he was married to Miss Elizabeth Sauer, who died two years ago.

He is survived by three brothers, John, William and August, and two sisters, Miss Catherine Homrighausen and Mrs. Anna Hepp, both of Hecker.

Mr. Homrighausen taught school in Randolph and Monroe Counties for fifteen years and served as township treasurer until his removal to Red Bud, where, for 36 years he was a notary public. He was one of the original stockholders of The Republican.

The funeral took place Sunday afternoon in Round Prairie.
