Betty Elizabeth Claypool,70, of Sigourney. died Wed., Feb. 24. 1999 at her home of a sudden illness.
She was born Nov. 25, 1928 in Sigourney to Chester Harold and Martha Conner Utterback. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1946. She married Harold LaVerne Claypool March 22, 1953; he died March 31. 1998. She was a homemaker and worked for Hankins Abstract and Keokuk County Abstract for 27 years. She attended the Sigourney Christian Church.
She is survived by a son David Lee Claypool; two daughters, Linda Diane Clark of and Mary Ann Albert; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter and a sister Louise Veldhuizen.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was a brother Dean Utterback and an infant sister Dorothy.
