Fred deGraaf, age 70 of Outlook, WA passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 8, 1941 to Dick (Dirk) and Henrietta (Hendrikja) Van Huizen deGraaf in Hallum, Friesland, The Netherlands.

Fred received his education from Agricultural Trade Schools in The Netherlands. On August 17, 1968 he married Donna Docia Malmgren at the Christian Reformed Church, Sunnyside, WA. Fred served in the United States Army serving in Vietnam. Fred was a self employed carpenter in which he built and remodeled local houses, dairies, businesses, etc. He enjoyed repairing any and everything, no matter how old or ancient. He also enjoyed building bird houses and working at The Hatchery. Fred was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Grandview, WA and the VFW.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna Docia deGraaf of Outlook, WA; two sons, Steven Richard deGraaf of Kennewick, WA and Douglas Edwin deGraaf of Kennewick, WA, 8 grandchildren, Joey, Nicole, Mikhayla, Timmy, Sara, Brandon, Megan and Alex deGraaf. He is also survived by his brothers, Pieter deGraaf (Tetje) of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; Ed DeGraaf (Donna Jean) of Sunnyside, WA; Henry DeGraaf (Rosalyn) of Grandview, WA; Dick DeGraaf (Katherine) of Kennewick, WA, sisters, Dieuwke deGraaf of The Netherlands; Betty Krol (Ted) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Tjitske Wyma of Oosterwolde, Friesland, The Netherlands and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dirk and Hendrikja, sisters, Janke Boomsma and Annie Geertsma deGraaf and brothers, Bert deGraaf and Ike deGraaf.

Viewing and visitation will be at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Graveside Services will be held at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA. A Memorial Service will be held at the Grandview Nazarene Church, Grandview, WA.
