He was a self-employed mechanic, retired as a fireman from Salt Lake County Fire Dept., and was an avid fisherman.
Survived by wife, Dorothy Cowley ; sons and daughter, Dr. I. Jack Cowley (Barbara), Montague, CA; Russell A. Cowley (Sharon), Florence, OR; Renee Fowkes (Stephen), Dale City, VA; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Sherri Sheppard, Holladay, UT. Preceded in death by parents, son Ronald W. Cowley , grandson Dale Cowley , sister Anita Rice, and brother George Cowley .
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 1998, 11 a.m. at the Holladay 14th Ward, 4917 Viewmont St. (2000 East). Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State State, and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to service. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park.
