Mrs. Sarah Jane Ledbetter, 90 years of age, passed away last Wednesday, March 21 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Raymond Howard southeast of Casey, following an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Ledbetter was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky, Feb. 4, 1855. She moved with her family to Indiana, in 1901, and to Illinois in 1911 She had made her home in Westfield for a number of years, prior to going to the home of her daughter a few months ago. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom preceded her in death.
The body was brought to the Rowland & Swinford Funeral Home to be prepared for burial, and funeral services were held from the G. A. Rowland residence at two o'clock Friday afternoon, and burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
