“Reggie Martin services set”
“Reggie Martin, 82, died Friday at his home at 717 Hayward St. after a lengthy illness.
Services for Mr. Martin have been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of Christ in Cherokee with Don Hensley officiating. A family prayer service will start at 1:15 p.m. at the church Wednesday. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Martin was born March 22, 1904, in Cherokee. He married Ellar Drake on Jan. 9, 1927 at Fayetteville, Ark. He lived in Cherokee all his life, farming for many years and also working at Dunn Chevrolet and Brown Chevrolet before retiring in 1969. He was affiliated with the First Church of Christ.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife; two sons, Harold Martin of Cherokee and Tim Martin of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Helen) Dittmer of Cushing and Betty Mart of Cherokee; one brother, Wayne Martin of Cherokee; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Paterson of Cherokee and Evelyn Witchaft of San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.”
