Emery Allen Messer, 54, Du
Quoin, died at 10:33 p.m. Wednesday in Veteran's Hospital,
Marion.
He had had a heart disease
for two years.
Mr. Messer was employed by
Illinois Power Co. Baldwin Plant
and was a Veteran of World
War II.
He was born July 7, 1918 in
Hurst to Harvey and Maude
Furlow Messer. He married AIlietta
Clark June 12, 1942 in
St. Louis, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons,
Emery, Allen Ray and Richie,
all in Du Quoin, and Terry of
Percy; five daughters, Vickie
Messer, Grace Cook, and Georgia
Williams, all of Du Quoin,
Gale Kebbler of Ava and Faye
Johnson of Carbondale; four sisters,
Gertrude Van Trump of
Du Quoin, Hiline White of Collinsville,
Thelma Reams of De Soto,
and Margaret Cook of Dowell;
two brothers, Glenn of
Cobden and Curtis of Dowell;
and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.
m. Friday in Van Natta Funeral
Home, Carbondale, with the
Rev. Gary L. Loyd, pastor of
General Pentecostal Church of
Sparta, officiating.
Burial will be in Murdale Gardens
west of Carbondale.
Friends may call after 5 p.m.
