Husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, confidant, inventor, hunter, chef, and working man died peacefully on July 8, 2009, surrounded by love at the age of 72. He fought a hard and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer and maintained his dignity and won the admiration of all he met.

Known to his family as Merv, he was born on November 28, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. Son of Otto and Clara Petsch. Mervin loved all people and never said an unkind word. He was a craftsman and could fix everything. He mentored many during his lifetime. No matter what the setting, he was the "go to" man.
