George Fred Horn was born March 20, 1892 at Simpson, Kansas and departed this life at his home east of Bennington July 20, 1963.

He came to Bennington at 3 months of age and made his home here all of his life.

He was united in marriage to Edith Mae Harmon of Culver, November 18, 1919. To this union were born two children. After their marriage his occupation was farming until illness forced him to retire a few years ago. He is survived by his wife, Edith and two children, George Jr., of Salina and Mrs. Sylvia Fox of San Diego, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Horn Sr. and sisters Leah Viola Horn and Mary Constable. He leaves to mourn his loss beside his wife and children and four grandchildren, the following brothers and sisters: Arthur Horn of Clyde, Kansas; Mrs. Emma Wagner of Bennington, Mrs. Addie Krisher, of Niles, Mrs. Nina Eisenhauer of Bennington; Charles Horn Jr. of Salina; Leslie Horn of Torrance, Calif., Mrs. Thelma Parkinson of Ventura, Calif.

He was a veteran of World War I.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 23, at the Bennington Methodist Church, with Rev. Olin Belt officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Raymond Boster, organist, Mrs. Max Boss and Mrs. Francis Garst, vocalists. Pall bearers were Clarence Johnson, John Berkley, Calvin Geist, Dewey Slick, Raymond Boster, and Jim Wolf. Interment was in Bennington Cemetery, with Fouts-Haley Funeral Home in charge.
