Survived by two daughters, Adrienne "Toni" Gilboy, Baton Rouge, and Karen Scheaffer-Murphy, Evergreen; six grandchildren, Bill Courtney and wife Terri, Baton Rouge, Erin C. Hall and husband, Charles Ray, Zachary, Kristin Scheaffer, Denver, Regan Murphy, Littleton, Sean Dresser, Roswell, Ga., and David O. Dresser II, Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Dr. Verne L. Smith Jr., Canterbury, N.H.; sister, Ruth S. Lafuse, Liberty, Ind.; eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harriet was a world traveler, visiting more than 100 countries. She was a very gracious lady in every sense of the word and loved music and nature. She was devoted to her family as they were to her, and will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. A memorial service was held in Littleton. Another service will be in Baton Rouge, at the First United Methodist Church until service in the sanctuary, officiated by the Rev. Chris H. Andrews. Memorial donations may be sent to First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70802, for the music ministry or the care team.
