Alvina/ Alvira was the daughter of Daniel & Mary/Polly Richards. There appears to have been a break in family relations based on her father’s 1839 will. He leaves bequests to her legitimate children. It is uncertain to know exactly what this meant, but this language was not used with any of his other children. It will also be noted that when her husband died in June 1850, his family along with neighbors helped to care for the orphaned children. In the 1850 census the children are spread around to Moore family members and neighbors. Alvina and Abram are buried in the Potter’s Field of the Mendon Cemetery.
