RACHEL JAMES

OKOLONA – Rachel "Ms. Joe" Johnson James died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, in Okolona. She was born Oct. 21, 1957, to Racheal Johnson and the late Gladist Johnson. She was a member of Red Bud M.B. Church, where she was an usher and youth teacher. She was very helpful in taking care of family members and others. She received her education from the Fannie Carter High School and M.I. She was a former employee of Beverly Health Care as a CNA and assistant manager at McDonald's.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Red Bud M.B. Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Ervin James of Okolona; her mother, Racheal Johnson of Okolona; one daughter, Jermekia A. Johnson of Okolona; one son, Jeremy A. Johnson of Okolona; her mother-in-law, Rena Gates of Okolona; her father-in-law, Benjamin James of Aberdeen; six sisters, Emma (Sammie) Farr, Mary (Dennis) Lester, Carry (Anderson)(Cunningham, Mimi (Eddie) Irons, Marg, Helen and Essie Hampton; six brothers, Claude Johnson, Scott Johnson, Willie (Eddie) Johnson, David (Tameral) Johnson, Rickey (Janell) Devauld and Shelby Devauld; three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Gladys Johnson; and a sister, Sara Patrick.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday with a wake from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
