MULLINS, SC - Mrs. Eva Mae Long Hinson Strickland, 91, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Marion Regional Hospital after an illness.

Mrs. Strickland, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, was born December 18, 1919 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Jack S. and Loretta Marlowe Long. She was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. Mrs. Strickland loved making crafts, gardening and working in her yard. She was a member of Mullins Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Strickland retired as a nurse from Marion Memorial Hospital.

Surviving Mrs. Strickland are: her children: Patsy Baxley of Lexington Park, Md., Henry (Linda) Hinson of Florence, Lee (Juanita) Strickland of Lancaster, Sue (Randy) Sawyer of Marion and Doris Buffkin of Conway; 15 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; a Sister: Pearlean Reaves of Florence; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Strickland was predeceased by her first husband, Ed Hinson; her second husband, Grover Strickland; 2 sons, Horace Hinson and Bill Hinson and a granddaughter, Amy Kemp. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. Talmadge Cullipher and Rev. Jerry Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
