Cody graduated from Phillips County High School in 1933, lettering in football, basketball, baseball and track.
He married Ruby F. Dirks in Sterling on August 16, 1936. The family moved to Boulder in 1952. In 1976, Cody and Ruby moved to Broomfield. Cody worked in the grocery business until retiring in 1977.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Boulder and the Rocky Mountain UFCW Union and a Master Mason of Holyoke Lodge #81.
Preceding him in death was wife Ruby.
Survivors include daughter Linda Rawlins and husband Mike of Virginia, son Gary Patrick of Lakewood; sister Naomi Nelson and brother Carl Patrick of California, grandchildren David Rawlins, Scott Rawlins, Ryan Patrick and Grant Patrick; and one great granddaughter.
Services were scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 1994 at First Christian Church of Boulder with Rev. Clyde Miller officiating.
Graveside services and burial were in Holyoke Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Blake officiating.
