Obituary: Mr. Charles Ruben Bertram, age 81, of Birdie Road, Griffin, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011. Mr. Bertram was born in Monticello, Kentucky on November 25, 1929 to the late Johnny Bertram and the late Bessie Dishman Bertram. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Buck Bertram; sister, Glenna Hurt. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bertram was the owner of Bertram Septic Tanks. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Bertram is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Ima and Mark Griffin of Williamson, Freda and Ricky Reese of Jackson; sons and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Tracey Bertram of Griffin, Jerry Bertram of Canton; grandchildren, Brian Griffin, Amanda Driggers, Stephen Reese, Bailee Bertram, Blair Bertram, Jordan Bertram, Joshua Bertram and Jacob Bertram; great-grandchild, Macy Griffin; sisters, Grace Hall of Jamestown, Kentucky, and Ella Barnes of Monticello, Kentucky; brother, Reverend Clarence Bertram of Campbellsville, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Charles Bertram will be conducted on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Gene Walton and Reverend Greg Marsh will officiate. Interment will follow in the Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
