Smedley A. "Smoke" Graham, 73, of Mexico, Indiana, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born March 24, 1937 in Bremen, the son of Clarence and Hollice (Romines) Graham. On October 3, 1959, he married Patricia Silva, and she survives.
Smedley had worked as a heating plant supervisor at Grissom Reserve Air Force Base. He retired from the United States Air Force after serving 20 years. He was also a member of the VFW Lodge. He was an avid softball player and coach. He loved Mustang cars.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughters, Kimberly (Jeff) Lowe of Denver, Susan (Joey) Seifried, Lisa (Randy) Rose and Patricia (Hans) Reitz, all of Peru; 11 grandchildren, Laken Rose, Bryan Reitz, Scott Reitz, Shelby Rose, Britini Lowe, Brandi Lowe, Hannah Rose, Baylei Seifried, Cody Butzin, Sophei Seifried and Sib Smedley Seifried; two brothers, William (Dot) Graham of North Carolina and Lesley (Gloria) Graham of Bremen; and two sisters, Mary Kay Jones of Bremen and Margaret Leos of San Antonio, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Hendricks.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2010, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third in Peru, with Pastor Rick Stone officiating.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico. There will be a military committal service at the cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the funeral home.
