Howard A. BERTRAM, 80, R.R., Kewanna, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday in the Pulaski Memorial hospital in Winamac.
He was born Aug. 1, 1895, in Detroit to Henry and Louise KOHLMORGAN BERTRAM. His marriage was Sept. 26, 1916 in Frankfurt to Grace DEARTH. She survives. He was a retired cost accountant, having worked 43 years with the Combustion Engineering company in East Chicago. He was a member of the United Methodist church in Lansing, Ill., the Lions club at Lansing, Hammond Masonic lodge and th Lake Bruce association.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Frances ANDERSON, Glenwood, Ill.; Mrs. Katherine OLDERWALD, North Springfield, Va., and Mrs. Shirley UNDERWOOD, Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Edith BUNDY, Frankton, Ind.; two brothers, Ray BERTRAM, of Fort Wayne; Earl BERTRAM, of Kokomo; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Harrison funeral home in Kewanna. The Rev. Keith SMITLEY will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill cemetery near Kewanna. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. The Masonic lodge will conduct graveside services.
