Harvey D. Griese, 81, of Ripon, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Ripon Medical Center.
Harvey was born on Sept. 28, 1914, in the Town of Ripon, a son of August and Amelia Wittchow Griese.
On June 23, 1946, he married Lorena A. Stibb at Little Mecan Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2002.
Harvey worked at Speed Queen for more than 41 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Ripon, Woodsman Lodge, and Ripon Drum and Bugle Corps.
Survivors include one daughter, Everdine (Steve) Johnson of Montello; three grandchildren, Steve Jr., Shelly and J.R. Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Amber, Tonya and Derick; one great-great-grandchild, Dominic; two sisters-in-law, Norma Bliske of Ripon and Sadie Judas of Princeton; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Lorena; two sisters, Edna and Esther; and two brothers, Elmer and Lawrence.
Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at Wachholz family Funeral Home in Ripon, with the Rev. Paul Holte officiating. Burial will follow at Rosendale Cemetery.
Visitation: Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 13, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.
A memorial has been established.
Wachholz Family Funeral Home of Ripon is serving the family.
